I had a flock of Turkeys cross the street in front of me going to work the other day.

In other news, the junk guys are coming tomorrow to get some furniture and they are taking my desk too. It took me 5 hours to clean it out. They were supposed to come Thursday but they called and said they would like to come earlier. I had a stink bug drop in on me from god knows where. That was fun...

I saw a wild hog run across the street a few weeks ago. And we almost hit an owl last night. :|

We see a bunch of wild animals around here because it's relatively rural. My favorite is probably the frequent sightings of rabbits in the backyard.
Yesterday this adorable flicker (think smaller woodpecker) perched on top of the over-wintering banana plants. Look at the  on its chest!! :o :)

I appreciate all of your animal sightings, even the stink bugs.

I could do without the stink bugs. I get so many of them at work that getting them at home is really annoying.

It's really and honestly good to be enthusiastic about things you like.

The only wild animals around here (that aren't birds) are possums and rabbits .

Yeah it was getting dark so I thought it was a big ol stray cat at first then I saw the old-school Hamburglar cosplay getup. Can't really tell from the photo though.

It's been "only" about 30℃ these last few days, and it's actually cool somewhat tonight! :o

Also, Australia keeps giving NZ reasons to make fun of them. This may be the dumbest thing they've done all year, except the dual citizenship saga is hard to top.

My sister and her boyfriend have to stay at our house until next Monday, along with their cat and dog. I'm happy to have them here but the animals are a little much. The cat is mostly fine, he's annoying and pushy about trying to make our cat play but easy to put up with most of the time. The dog on the other hand is a big (70lbs), hyperactive, anxiety-filled mess that never seems to get tired. Ever. No matter how much you play or run him around outside. He's precious but a lot to deal with when you're used to animals/pets that aren't so high strung.

It's time to put a second blanket on my bed. I have my thermostat set to 70℉ (21℃), but my apartment is an open floor plan and not particularly well insulated, so the furnace struggles to maintain that temperature when it gets really cold. The actual temperature in my apartment is now down to 68℉ (20℃), and that's cool enough to make me uncomfortable with only one blanket. I didn't sleep well last night, and I'm feeling it this morning.

I've recently discovered hot water bottles. Have you ever tried one? Helps to warm the bed up before you get in, and then stays warm all night, too.

The problem isn’t down by my feet, it’s up around my back and shoulders where the single blanket is loose and drafts sneak in. A second blanket makes everything lay more heavily. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

For what it's worth, I haven't touched the thermostat yet the actual temperature in my apartment is now down to 67℉.

Sunbeam Heated Mattress Pad

I haven't used my furnace yet and surviving Ok so far using the $49.00 mattress pad.

edit:
I think I'm using the $79.00 one (Bed Bath and Beyond) now that I looked at them again.
